Blue Bay Shoreline Park
Adler Architects, Inc. and Kent Watson and Associates, Landscape Architecture collaborated on the Master Plan for Blue Bay Shoreline Park. This included a Day Use Loop (circulation through the day-use area, including the boat ramp), Caretaker’s Residence, Public Toilet & Changing Room Facility, a Fisheries / Enforcement Boat House and Shop, and a Fish Cleaning Station.
The Master Planning has included taking stock of existing structures and landscape (including forestry management), planning for their existing and future use with consideration of natural and cultural opportunities. Phasing has been established by a unique balance of intuitive judgements and grouping priorities by 1) current and projected usage, 2) geography within the site, 3) immediate program and functional necessities, and 4) ”setting aside” of certain elements for which no immediately viable purpose has been assigned. As the site and region develop, several scenarios may come to the fore. The master plan anticipates being open enough to adapt to any future scenario revisions. Work on the existing historic Lodge Complex, which will include a nomination to the National register of Historic Places, will follow phase one.
